Welcome to West Wales Golf Alliance
West Wales Golf Alliance has a busy schedule of golf events that run mainly through the Autumn, Winter and Spring seasonal months and visits some of the best golf courses that South and West Wales has to offer. Each field is made up of both amateurs and professionals from local golf clubs and plays to a fourball betterball medal format. We also hold a Medal competition for Club Professionals provided we have sufficient entries.
Although we have a strong membership base, new members are always welcome. Find out more about West Wales Golf Alliance by having a look though the other pages on the website and get in touch if you're interested in taking part in future events. Please note that to play in the Alliance competitions, players MUST BE MEMBERS OF A RECOGNISED GOLF CLUB WITH A VALID WHS HANDICAP INDEX.

Local players take the honours
We had a small field of just 16 pairs turn out at Neath for our April meet, but there was no shortage of enthusiasm from those present. It was the home club members who would dominate the top places, despite them feeling the scores would not be enough when handing their cards in. Kevin Spear and Craig Evans (Neath G.C.) returned a 67 Nett for 1st Place - and it was their playing partners, Steve Williams and Martin Tucker who took 2nd Place on countback, with a 68 Nett. Mond Valley pair of Huw Jones and Jason Jones deserve a mention, having been squeezed out of 2nd Place on countback, but did score two 7s on the last three holes!
There were 9 x 2s - each receiving 2 Balls.
Many thanks to Neath Golf Club for hosting our event, and congratulations on the excellent presentation of the course. Well done also on your lovely new clubhouse!
Important: Please note that to play in Alliance competitions then players must be members of a recognised Golf Club and must have a valid WHS Handicap Index.
BUGGIES: Buggies are now permitted for use, subject to the host club allowing them on the course on the day of our event.
Next Event: Machynys - 3rd May ***CANCELLED***
Yet again, due to poor weather conditions, our event at Machynys has had to be cancelled. An email with more information has been circulated.
